Fair Housing, Agency Law, & Legal Update

This course will provide real estate licensees with knowledge of Agency relationships and duties in Minnesota. Information will also be shared on RESPA, marketing services agreements and the new loan estimate form. Common Interest Ownership properties statutes will be covered, highlighting different types of properties, disclosure obligations, and rights. Additionally, fair housing laws and resources will be covered.

⏱️ Be on time or early for class. Do not leave the class for an extended period of time outside breaks. Continuing education courses must be attended in their entirety in order to receive credit for the number of approved hours. (MN Statute 45.30 Subd 4a).
Attendees must be signed-in and visible on-camera no later than class start time. Once class begins, attendees joining the waiting room are admitted into the virtual classroom; anyone joining the class after the start time is considered late and no CE can be earned – regardless of reason. It doesn’t matter if the reason/excuse is login/tech trouble. All attendees must be visible on camera or no CE will be earned; we must be able to confirm your attendance throughout the entire course.


This educational offering is recognized by the Minnesota Commissioner of Commerce as satisfying 3.75 hours of Continuing Real Estate Education requirements.
This Module Satisfies the 1-Hour Fair Housing, 1-Hour of Agency Law, and the 1-Hour Broker Module Requirement. Students must pass an examination at the end of the course to receive credits for completion of the module.

John Anderson
John has over 40+ years of real estate experience as a salesperson/broker. He has served on RMLS board of governors, MNAR Professional Standards Committee and NAR Public Policy Coordinating Committee. John has earned the CRS, CRB, ABR, E-Pro, GRI and several other real estate designations. He has been a Real Estate continuing education instructor for several years, teaching many types of classes including agency, fair housing, seller and buyer counseling, transaction problem solving and the required modules.

SPAAR Education Policy for Cancellations, Refunds, & No Shows:

SPAAR refund policy-In order to receive a refund for a class, students must provide a cancellation request with-in 24 hours to the class. Students who cancel after, who arrive late for class, or who do not show up, will not receive a refund. All payments are non-refundable and non-transferable. For classes offered to students with no enrollment fee, a $25 no-show fee will be issued for any student who does not cancel 24-hours prior and who does not attend the class, due upon receipt.
