His introduction to title research began with an initial role as the company courier, physically traveling to County courthouses to retrieve court documents, historical land records and anything else co-workers and clients needed. Ryan began coordinating closings for customers and eventually completed closings as the notary at the table, and as he developed a deeper understanding of how public records affect the various parties involved in real estate transactions, managed the company's title research, title examination and closing risk prevention processes.
